BW Businessworld will be hosting the 7th most definitive and influential gathering of the Smart Cities Ecosystem to discuss the way forward and recognise the best work from the Cities, States & Industry.
BW Businessworld Smart Cities Awards 2019
Businessworld Smart Cities Awards is an annual endeavour designed to felicitate, recognize and encourage individuals, policy makers, companies, government bodies and associations working behind the successful execution and development of Govt. of India's Smart Cities Mission and rejuvenation of cities in India.
Note: Apart from the completed projects we will be accepting ongoing projects as well. Completed projects will be given 100% weightage and ongoing projects will be given 80% weightage.
This category recognizes the project/services and solutions undertaken by States/ UT in transforming and promoting sustainable development in urban/rural areas, using innovative technology in building equitable, safe, healthy and collaborative cities, thus enhancing quality of life while improving business processes, improving delivery of public services to create and provide a positive impact on society.

These could include alternative fuels, energy efficiency, and the electrification of transportation (hybrid vehicles), ITMS, etc.
This category recognizes projects implemented, executed and undertaken made to preserve the authenticity of architecture along with restoring and replenishing the lost history, art and literature.
Recognizing the best projects / initiatives in including (but not limited to) environmental monitoring, energy conservation, smart lighting, smart trash bins, smart meters, and smart grids.
This award category recognizes projects, services and solutions made in the health sector in terms of affordable healthcare services & delivery, introduction of advanced medical treatments, e-Health/ m-Health & other innovative technologies.

Recognizing the best projects / initiatives in policing such as real-time crime centers, body worn video, and visual surveillance and analysis.
Recognizing the best projects / initiatives for ensuring public safety, including (but not limited to) emergency services such as early warning systems, community level initiative, etc.
Recognizing the best projects / initiatives in education, including eLearning and online learning, learning management systems, smart classrooms, and smart campuses for K-12 and higher education.
Recognizing the development and implementation of a mobile application that integrates all the city services, provides immediate information with tourist interests, making them more available to citizens.
The category includes project that are inclusive in nature and scope with reference to accessibility of public services digitally, innovations in accessibility services public Wi-Fi, and other projects catering towards underserved communities.
Recognizing the smart initiatives taken for solid waste management.

Also, the category also includes buildings that promote healthy, sustainable, environment friendly, energy and water efficient residential / commercial establishments.
Recognizing the best projects / initiatives in smart parking, smart infrastructure, multi-modal transport hubs, and journey planning and smart public transit/ride-hailing/ride-sharing services.
This award category recognizes projects by Municipal Corporations that identify critical areas including - Public spaces, Education, Skilling & Training, Sewage, Water supply, Transportation, Retrofitting, waste management, etc.
This category includes the projects that have been instrumental in maintaining a sustainable model on Cleanliness and in promoting hygiene amongst community.
